B-BOT!

Make friends. Customize your contacts.

B-BOT is brought to you by New York based creative agency Thunderdog Studios and features all new artwork from world-renowned artist Tristan Eaton.

Famous for his work in designer toys (including Kidrobot’s Dunny and Munny), Tristan Eaton has brought his art to the small screen with an app that combines the visual style of the art toy movement with the sleek technology of the iPhone. If you ever wanted to see how you’d look as an Urban Vinyl Toy, here’s your chance!

With B-BOT you can customize your contacts by making awesome cartoons of yourself and your friends. Once you’ve created a B-BOT, you can assign it to a contact on your iPhone or iPod touch directly from the application. Now when you receive a call from that person, the B-BOT will show up on the caller ID screen. Or you can use our built-in shuffle feature to randomly generate B-BOTs ‘til the cows come home!

B-BOT features a huge variety of bodies to choose from along with hundreds of hair styles, accessories, eyes, mouths, sneakers, and more. No matter how fresh or freaky your style is, there’s something in there for you! With over 400 items to choose from, you can make over a billion B-BOTs of yourself and your friends. And if you don’t have any friends, just make them!

B-BOT was conceived by Tristan and New York creative Peter Cortez while working together on a project for the 2008 Barack Obama Campaign.

B-BOT was developed by Greg Elliott, the creator of SynchStep; the app that automatically synchs your music to your pace. www.synchstep.com

C-POP GALLERY CLOSING SHOW: DETROIT

The closing of C-Pop is a sad occasion. Thunderdog Pres Tristan Eaton has been showing with C-Pop since he was 18 years old and they played a pivotal role in his career. C-Pop Founder Rick Manore got Tristan his first illustration job at Detroit’s Orbit Magazine and C-Pop Owner Tom Thewes was Tristan’s Illustration teacher! Needless to say, these guys are old pals of ours and they’ve been extremely important to the entire art community. Back in 1996 when they started, they were one of the only galleries in America to show exclusively  ’Low Brow Art’, and made a home for artists like Glen Barr, Naigara, Robert Williams and more. It so so sad to see these guys go, they’ve done more than most for us personally and our whole art culture at large.

The closing show will feature an all star line up of the best of the best that have shown at C-Pop and will definitely be a beautiful exhibition. Definitely come by if you’re in the D!
Also check out the shout out Tristan and his Mom got in the Detroit Free Press today. It’s pretty funny:

“Tristan Eaton was the first person to sell an art piece at CPop, when he was still in high school,” says Manore. “His  mom, Gillian, came into the gallery on the day we opened and said her son was an artist. Tristan brought in his piece  and it sold, and I thought, ‘Wow, people will buy original art.”
